Copper, Not Just a Pretty Wire

Why copper wire?   

Here at Crystals, Curls, Gems, & Spirals, I use copper for multiple reasons. 

I love the color and brightness of copper. Copper is a fantastic wire to work with, affordable, readily available, and has multiple options for presentation.  I can choose to keep the copper its natural bright color or use a patina to create a multi-hue, antiqued effect. 

However, my favorite reasons to use copper are the properties of the metal.

Copper is a natural conductor, believed to have healing powers and allow for the conduction of energy aka healing powers around the body. 

Copper amplifies and transmits thoughts, providing a connection between the physical and spiritual realms due to its high vibrational frequency. 

Copper is believed to remove negative energy and balance the chakras.  Copper can also ease lethargy, awaken one’s senses, and bring one to a more positive place. 

With all the amazing properties of copper, it is a beautiful medium to enhance the qualities of crystals and gemstones to the wearer. 

In my jewelry making process, I cleanse my crystals and gemstones and then ask them to give their gifts to the person who chose the jewelry piece. The gifts of the crystals and gemstones are amplified, and that energy envelopes the wearer. 

Other metals, crystals, and gemstones bring their own unique and beautiful gifts to the world and to these jewelry pieces.  I look forward to sharing about these gifts with you in future posts.
